Rating Analyst

S&P Global Ratings is seeking an analyst to join its Structured Finance Ratings group as a Rating Analyst. The Rating Analyst will begin their career at S&P Global by participating in a two-year training program to learn the analysis of the five fundamental aspects of our structured finance framework: credit quality of the securitized assets; legal and regulatory risks; payment structure and cash flow mechanics; operational and administrative risks; and counterparty risk. We expect the analyst to be well-versed in multiple Structured Finance disciplines by the completion of the two year program.

A Rating Analyst is responsible for supporting senior analysts in managing the ratings process end-to-end from the initial engagement through the publication of reports. The Rating Analyst will help to review documents, assess the credit risk, and may conduct cash flow analyses. The Rating Analyst will also have opportunities to assist senior analysts in client interactions, operational reviews, and thought leadership. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded individual who possesses strong analytical, reading, and communications skills, which are essential for becoming a cross-skilled structured finance analyst.

Responsibilities:

Be able to conduct detailed reviews of legal and operating documents to ensure compliance and consistency with criteria and identify issues with the transaction structure. Provide comments to senior analysts and external parties, as requested.
Analyze credit quality of assets and may perform cash flow analysis, synthesize results in a timely manner for client meetings and rating committees.
Prepare written and oral presentations to rating committees. Assist senior analysts prepare their recommendations to committees and actively participate in committee deliberations.
Draft well-written, thorough yet concise press releases and presale reports. Collaborate with internal parties (editorial, data, etc.) to manage the publication of ratings and reports to external audiences.
Assist senior analysts in managing relationships with issuers, arrangers, intermediaries and investors. Be able to effectively communicate S&P’s methodologies and procedures. Participate in client meetings.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of ratings criteria by helping to resolve clients’ analytical needs.
Work on special projects as directed by senior analysts.

As an Associate, you will analyze a portfolio of health care organizations including assessments of market position, strategic positioning and execution as well as assessments of the organization’s historical and projected financial trends. You will also be accountable for resolving difficult deal-specific analytical situations. Associate Director – Structured Finance Ratings (ABS)

The Team: S&P Global Ratings is seeking an Associate Director to join its Structured Finance practice as part of the Asset Backed Securities team. The practice provides credit ratings of structured products that are backed by pools of consumer and commercial assets, including auto loans and leases, equipment leases, credit card receivables, student loans and personal loans in the U.S. and Canada.

Head of ESG Research, S&P Global Ratings, Cross Practice & Global

Role Summary:
The role consists in leading and coordinating Sustainable Finance team originated research , done within the sustainable finance team or in partnership with rating practices and/or other divisions within SPGI. It also includes coordinating the review of ESG related rating research to ensure consistency of message . Sustainable Finance is an area of exponential growth of market interest and in which our thought leadership position is not as established as in the credit space. The Head of Research mandate will be to drive the quality, thoroughness and timeliness of our ESG research to both enhance S&P Global Ratings analysts awareness and assessment of emerging & complex ESG trends as well as to provide market participants with our views and opinions. The scope of potential research topics, which span across sectors, geographies and ESG themes (E, S,G) , will be very broad, not product specific, requiring the Head of Research to develop a clear vision about what is most relevant, prioritize and coordinate effectively and drive quality of output with a view to bring substantial analytical value to the market and gradually establish S&P Global Ratings as a true thought leader in the ESG space . We expect the Head of ESG Research to be actively involved in market outreach and be a senior spokesperson for the Sustainable Finance team.
