Position Purpose: As the general manager and camp director, you will be at the heart of a fun and vibrant community that provides year-round programming that enriches the lives of children. POSITION SUMMARY:
YMCA Camp Weona is a traditional overnight camp, with a variety of program features including horseback riding, high ropes, archery, aquatics, rock climbing and environmental science. The resident camp director plans, organizes and implements activities, provides direction, supervision and support to resident camp staff, implements the marketing plan, performs administrative tasks, and ensures the safety of campers.
GENERAL WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a seasonal position. The employee is required to reside at Camp Weona during all program sessions, with scheduled time off every week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Plans and implements camp activities as per the program design.
2. Trains, supervises, directs and evaluates program staff. Participates in the interview process to identify the best camp staff. Manages the staff schedule to ensure that the staff to child ratio is met.
3. Develops and publishes the staff schedule and authorizes time worked.
4. Implements the pre-camp marketing plan to maximize enrollment.
5. Provides daily oversight and leadership of camp operations. Identifies and solves problems, implements appropriate discipline techniques, and enforces policies and procedures.
6. Plans and facilitates components of the pre-camp staff training program.
7. Ensures effective communication between staff and parents of campers.
8. Develops and maintains positive, open communication between campers and camp staff.
9. Implements and maintains work rules and regulations as required by YMCA Buffalo Niagara and the NYS Department of Health.
10. Pursues new and innovative program initiatives.
11. Participates with campers when needed, including in the pool.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have knowledge of and previous experience in resident camping, group work, recreation and related fields.

Camp Director
The JCC Camps at Medford is looking for a Director of its off-site day camp. The JCC Camps at Medford is one of the largest Jewish Day Camps in North America and is an ACA accredited camp located in Medford, NJ. JCC Camps at Medford is the offsite camp of the Betty and Milton Katz JCC in Cherry Hill, NJ. The Camp is host to over 1300 campers and over 500 staff during the 8-week summer program.
The Director provides leadership to the Camp, including but not limited to, administration, coordination, and supervision of all functions within the organization in accordance with the Values, Vision, and Mission.
