Creative Technologist
Fake Love ( www.fakelove.tv ), a New York Times Company, is an award-winning experience agency. We produce a wide range of experiential work from permanent installations to immersive live events and everything in between. The technology is never our core focus; it is a tool that serves us in our telling of emotionally impactful stories.
The Tech Department at Fake Love is seeking an experienced Creative Technologist. You will report to the Director of Technology and work with a team of other technologists, creatives and producers. This is a junior to mid-level position.
Your job will be to execute the technical side of projects – primarily in software development, but occasionally working with hardware as well. For some projects, you will be expected to contribute to creative ideation, while also keeping those ideas technically feasible. On a typical project, you will work under a Lead Creative Technologist, but ideally you will advance to become one yourself after gaining more experience. Our projects typically have tight turnaround times, so there is a lot of need for improvisation and keeping a relaxed attitude.
The ideal candidate has a deep creative drive in addition to their technical prowess. You should have a portfolio that demonstrates this. You should be curious and have a wide range of knowledge about technologies and softwares used, but also a core focus or specialty. You are comfortable with self driven projects as well as working in teams with others. You don’t need to know how to do it all, but you should know how to research and find the right answers.
