Essential Duties Summaryo Develops and oversees the verification process for students requesting accommodations due to a disability; reviews documentation and determines appropriate accommodations, if needed; provides referrals as needed.
o Coordinates reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities including testing accommodations and proctoring exams; evaluates effectiveness of accommodations and strategies.
o Provides training and assists faculty and staff in understanding and providing reasonable accommodations.
o Presents information about Disability Services at various events including OAR Days, Peacock Experience and other events.
o Provides guidance and advice to students with disabilities regarding current as well as upcoming courses.
o Maintains current knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act, 504 Plans, IEPs and accommodations for students with disabilities.
o Ability to interpret diagnoses for LD, ADHD, TBI, and psychiatric disorders.
o Maintains the Disability Services Handbook and the Student Accommodation Manager (SAM) software.
