Amazon is looking for a junior level on figure Stylist with an excellent portfolio demonstrating on figure styling in a commercial studio. This is a multifaceted role that may execute styling production on figure, oversee our freelance assistant stylist team, ensure closet maintenance, participate with Merch Coordination all while ensuring on-set processes are followed and troubleshooting on-set challenges. This role may require assisting on editorial shoots, special projects and casting. This is a temporary assignment.

Responsibilities:

Maintaining and organizing fashion closets and styling workstations to studio standards.
Onboard new assistant stylist
Work with multiple temp agencies to arrange contract temp assistants
Support the Stylist Manager in day to day studio projects
Supports merchandise coordination by ensuring efficient flow of physical product on-set and communicating styling and product issues
Responsible for adhering to studio-wide safety programs and requirements
Support the development of standard operating procedures
Run daily shoots while maintaining positive energy in studio at all times
Troubleshoot styling challenges on-set using knowledge of Amazon’s business objectives and visual brand
Analyze studio productivity to develop and implement process improvements
Understand the flow within the studio on-set and partner with studio operations team to identify new efficiencies
Follow studio style guide to style a wide variety of products with consistently high quality, balanced with efficiency
Update style guides as well as any necessary documentation in styling division
Strive for continual elevation of imagery utilizing Amazon’s visual aesthetic and brand standards
Act as point person for freelance stylists; drive expectations to support quality and productivity
Organize and facilitate high priority imaging
Develop improved processes for existing categories; serve as the team expert in one or more categories of styling
Assist with creating training and SOP material

Previous experience working in a high-volume commercial studio
Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of workflow including prioritization, planning and task delegation under tight deadlines
Demonstrated experience working on multiple tasks at varying stages of completion under tight deadlines
Basic sewing skills, garment construction and tailoring
Experience providing work direction to a team of associates with diverse skill sets
Comfortable in a culture of continuous change

Food Stylist

Position Summary

Discovery, Inc., is on the hunt for our next amazing Food Stylist to manage food production and styling for Food Network’s television shows, digital/social, print and other media. Joining us at our offices in Chelsea Market in New York, New York, this jack-of-all trades will work on set to support talent and behind-the-scenes culinary teams, develop and test recipes for various media, cater for in-house and talent appearance events, and potentially appear on camera for social shoots.

Responsibilities

1. Manage culinary aspects of production, including participating in pre-production meetings, assessing recipes and breakdowns, creating detailed shopping lists, and ensuring that all relevant information shared with culinary team.
2. Manage prep crews of full-time and freelance stylists, culinary PAs and other support, and interns.
3. Manage back kitchens and food for location shoots.
4. Develop, test and evaluate original clean recipes in the style of Food Network Kitchens for Food Network Magazine, cookbooks, Ad Sales, Digital (Food Network & Cooking Channel websites and social media).
5. Cater events for Discovery’s Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales, Marketing, Press and other teams.
6. Keep current with industry and food trends and culinary research

Requirements

*** We try to stick to the 8-hour/day work schedule, but productions often entail overtime, evenings, weekend and/or the occasional holiday. This role is also PERFECT for those who like to travel as you stylists may spend several weeks, or longer, away from our NYC studio and on set for one of our TV shows.

You have 5+ years of experience in culinary and food handling, preparation and cooking procedures and preferably have a culinary degree.
You’re a creative master at cooking and baking techniques and have broad and deep knowledge of world cuisines and products.
You anticipate and can respond quickly to fluid circumstances on a set or over the long-term.
You shine with a ‘can do’ positive attitude and love collaborating with multiple partners.
You have impeccable organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail.
You monitor timelines and adjust your work as needed, prioritizing to achieve success.
You have excellent communication and follow-up skills and are capable of working on multiple projects in various stages of production.

Position Overview:

As a member of the Product Development Team, the Stylist will interpret and realize the creative vision for our products, being instrumental in defining the look of much of our costume and party photography. The Stylist will be involved with photography needed for print, web, catalogs, and other special projects. and liaison between all teams to formulate plans to execute and accomplish all photo needs in timely manner dictated by timelines.

Responsibilities:

Participate in brainstorming to develop ideas for product photography
Liaison between teams to understand vision and desired direction of each project, then work to formulate action plans to accomplish
Create virtual style boards and other materials to sell photo concepts internally prior to shooting
Incorporate props and other accessories as needed into party and costume shoots
Coordinate with the team to ensure that all items are on hand and ready to shoot as scheduled

When working with costume models, ensure that the correct feel and attitude for the character comes across.

Education/Experience:

College Degree
2+ years professional experience in design, brand or related creative industry.
