Production Assistant

The position is based in midtown new york city,Fluent in Mandarin (read, speak, write & type)

Follow up order & sampling details with our overseas suppliers & vendors.
Communicate with sales, merchandiser, overseas office for product development and sourcing product, price quotations and price ticket details.
Work with e-Commerce team to collect item set-up information.
Work with sales team to answer all questions of the product or others to grow business for specific customer.
Monitor delivery dates, shipping status, & updating our Sales staff & customers on a weekly basis.
Update price file & sales summary reports for all on-going production.
Daily follow up of all PO’s (progress, problems, approval, delivery issues).
Manage Mailing out packages to our overseas vendors & customers.
Manage the sourcing process for new product development.
Manage vendors in preparation for factory audits.
Maintain updated accessory files.
Run sales report and analyze the sale by product category, customer, and brand.
Watch and run inventory report.
Follow up on all sampling & costing.
Update Sample specs & changes from the Designer.
Work with photo studio to get photo approval.
Ensure quality control on all sample

Minimum Skills Required:

Bachelor’s degree preferred

2+ years of experience in textiles or apparel industry required
2+ year of experience negotiating prices and lead-times with factories
Knowledge of time and action calendars

Excellent written and oral communication skills

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Production Associate to join our team.. Responsible for meeting production deadlines and goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS include the following:

Assist in the preparation of samples to be presented to customers
Receive and send specifications and layouts to vendors for making samples.
Track all samples and prepare for delivery to customer.
Coordinate & submits approvals, communicate and follow up between factories, fabric mills, accessory suppliers, and customer.
Responsible for meeting deadlines for production; finish garment production and ship to customer on time.
Communicate regularly with vendors and customers and assist in resolving any issues they may have on garment design, color, size, fitting, etc.
Compile, record and maintain production data
Manage container planning to ensure container capacity is maximized
Write and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly production reports
Assist with compiling material inventory records and prepare requisitions for procurement of materials.
Other duties or projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree.
Fashion related experience, including textile and production, would be useful.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines.
Knowledge of MS Office.

Job Duties

The primary responsibility of this position is to take existing design concepts and apply it over a range of packaging and products. Product files must then be sent to our manufacturers.
Tracks all new product development to and from factories.
Create and maintain an accurate list of UPC’s and for all MDW products and accounts.
Works with the design department to proofread prints, revise and update files as needed.
Package and send products, maintain and organize all development samples, as needed.

Job Requirements

Minimum of 5 years, post college production experience.
Packaging and the Giftware Industry experience, required.
While not a design role, a solid background in design is extremely helpful.
Mastery for Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. **Must be able to work in “CMYK” multilayered Photoshop files.**
Stellar ability to produce print-ready files and experience with digital prepress and preflight management.
Thorough knowledge of visual design principals; graphic design, layout, typography, color.
A talent for multi-tasking, organizing and prioritizing projects.
Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills. Should be able to maintain a calm demeanor amid shifting priorities.
Must show strong attention to detail and provide ingenuity and resourcefulness when problem solving.
Self-starter who can work well under pressure, in a team, as well as, independently with minimal supervision.

The Role
We’re looking for a Production/Inventory Manager to help create processes and define benchmarks for Infinite Objects as we grow. This is an opportunity to significantly impact our day to day operations and eventually develop a team of direct reports.

Create, manage, and maintain internal and overseas product assembly

Manage product delivery and production calendar, and ensure all internal and external partners are updated on timelines

Manage our network of product and packaging vendors and eventually take over all daily communications

Tracking, receiving, and QC of all inventory including products and packaging

Maintaining inventory of all assembly and fulfillment materials

Oversee quality control by tracking and reporting on defect rates

Coordinate with the sales and executive teams on product launches and order fulfillment and communicate if there are any production delays

Research with sourcing materials and manufacturers

Desired Qualifications

1-2 years of experience in production, industrial design, consumer electronics, product management or inventory management

Proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills

Knowledgeable about negotiating with overseas providers and what drives vendors’ cost structures

Prior experience working with a PLM and PO systems a plus

The Production Manager will focus on print production for nonprofit direct mail marketing.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Assisting members of the account team in managing the print and production of direct mail projects
Opening jobs in our production management system and maintaining statusReviewing and coordinating production schedules with Account Managers to meet deadlines
Continually monitoring the status of all works in progress to ensure delivery is on time and within the estimated budget
Managing and coordinating all work (data, artwork, copy, print proofs, postage, etc.) between outside vendors and the account teams
Reviewing and routing set ups (laser sign offs) and print proofs for direct mail projects
Ensuring quality and accuracy of production sign offs through the TLC proofing system
Completing the billing process by facilitating and finalizing costs and invoices for each project
Attending the campaign kickoff meeting with the account teams
