2D Print Production Manager

The Manager, Global Production Planning will be responsible for a category of Fresh’s product planning, and procurement of components and planning of productions at subcontractors. Based in the Jersey City, NJ office and reporting to the Associate Director, Global Planning, the Manager will be an effective communicator with cross functional partners with the ability to make timely decisions on process implementation and improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the skincare and lifestyle planning team: develop the team to continuously improve the technical and managerial skills of the team members, be able to provide support when necessary.

This role will manage production and manufacturing a mix of 1/c and 4/c reprints for the F+W imprint with a backlist list of approximately 6,000 titles. Working with a variety of internal departments, including Editorial, Managing Editorial, and Inventory, this position plays a key role in the process of creating a physical book.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Obtain quotations from vendors and analyze pricing, focusing on domestic vs overseas manufacture.
  • Issuing the book and component purchase orders for F+W reprints.
  • Confirm book specs from legacy sources, down spec as needed, and update the system network.
  • Coordinate with paper department for special order text stock.
  • Evaluate files for completeness, as well as ordering and routing corrections for approval.
  • Negotiating schedules with the internal publishing teams and with external vendors.
  • Follow up with our vendors to ensure that schedules are being held.
  • Reconcile invoices.
  • Running P&L estimates for reprints as needed for the sales and inventory teams.
