Public Relations Account Executive

What You’ll Do (Mission):

  • Work with clients to achieve increased awareness and elevate their presence in the media through earned media placements that align with client objectives. Strategically communicate client initiatives through leveraging of media relationships while in keeping with brand messaging.
  • Scrupulous attention to detail and ability to multitask both short term and long term media placements. Efficiently communicate with clients and facilitate their interactions with members of the press.
  • Tracking all opportunities while pursuing consistent coverage. Develop and perpetuate client confidence through clear, courteous, and professional communication. Ensure continual synergy with the client’s leadership to support its brand image and business goals- continually honing the strategy.

Role Responsibilities and Outcomes

As the primary point of contact on assigned accounts, and under direction of the Account Director on the account, responsibilities will include:

  • Strong leadership presence in account work
  • Leading brainstorming sessions and work with the team to create communication strategies, press plans, and outreach lists- track, record, and report on outcomes
  • Creation of press materials including one-sheeters, client bios, press releases, media alerts, and more
  • Effectively and frequently pitches by phone as well as email, secures strategic and targeted placements with ease
  • Researching and developing general and specific media lists, updating constantly
  • Brainstorming innovative partnerships, speaking opportunities, and other ownable media moments for clients
  • Responsible for maintaining timely pitching and follow up, to ensure media opportunities
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively develop full range of written materials including pitches, press releases, byline articles, speeches, briefing sheets, client correspondence and reports
  • Supporting and training junior team members (i.e. answering questions, helping with edits, and giving direction).
  • Fostering new and maintaining existing relationships with network of media contacts
  • Leveraging knowledge of current social media environment to create content, strategy, and enhance brand equity through client social media platforms and interactions

Public Relations – Director / Senior Account Executive

Candidate handles client relations, identifies and secures press opportunities, and delivers consistent earned media coverage. Candidate must have excellent time management and prioritization skills; must be able to work on multiple accounts at the same time with strong delegation abilities. Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Tangible media relations experience, including working with and pitching to reporters; celebrities, athletes and influencers a strong plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written and editorial communications skills.
