GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Strategy Analyst will play a key role in how we continue to support the Ross corporate strategy. The Strategy Analyst will be a part of a distinctive strategy team. The Strategy Analyst should expect to interact with key operators as well as other strategy team members in New York and Dublin offices, and support the presentation of findings to the top executives of the company.

The new Global Strategy Group (GSG) led by the Global Vice-Chair of Strategy will play a critical role in helping EY achieve its ambition. The GSG is driven by the following principles:
The Global Strategy Team will primarily consist of four inter-related functions:
1. Strategic intelligence: analyzing macro trends; market definition, size, and growth; and competitive positioning that affect EY’s market opportunity across all of its different areas of business
2. Portfolio management and capital allocation: developing ongoing processes and supporting business analytics that monitor EY’s business portfolio, identify any adjustments that need to be made, and help to prioritize areas of strategic investment (or divestment) for the firm
3. About Revenue Optimization team
The mission of the Revenue Optimization team is focused on building the foundations for pricing/yield management and inventory optimizations through state-of-the-art analytics and predictive modeling. The group acts as an in-house consulting team analyzing data to define strategies and execute on initiatives that will maximize the revenue streams for WeWork.
Reporting into the Senior Director of Global Pricing Strategy, this role will apply deep analytical expertise and problem-solving skills to develop insights and recommendations around pricing and inventory optimization. This includes gathering and analyzing data, formulating and testing hypotheses, communicating insights and recommendations.
The ideal person for this role is highly analytical, thinks about problems in structured ways, passionate about capturing information to make recommendations for the business, and excellent at delivering actionable insights.
Key focus areas
Scope, structure and execute analyses & models to support the various revenue optimization initiatives and shape our next generation of revenue management strategy (e.g., segmentation, acquisition costs)
Effectively communicate findings and provide key insights and recommendations to our Revenue Optimization Leadership team
Develop and automate revenue performance reports and dashboards by assembling various data sources and summarizing key insights
Requirements
BA/BS from a leading undergraduate institution with a major in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Finance)
4+ years of experience doing quantitative data analysis
Very strong analytical skills in data extraction, big data analytics / modeling and visualization: Expert in Excel / Tableau required; SQL, Python, and R are a plus
Solid understanding of statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, predictive models)
Strong problem solving-skills – ability to break a problem into components and understand how to test each component
Data first philosophy but can also make decisions in ambiguous situations
Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to create meaningful presentation that tell a story, as well as collaborate with data and software engineers
