Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with internal clients and external partners to help create various production projects and assets
  • Lead and manage multiple video editing projects from concept to delivery
  • Craft engaging narratives by cutting footage, adding transitions, sound effects, music, and visual effects to create a polished final product
  • Utilize advanced editing features like color grading, motion graphics, and animation to enhance video quality and storytelling
  • Work closely with producers, directors, creative teams, clients and other stakeholders to understand project vision and translate it into compelling video content
  • Ensure all video edits meet high standards for visual consistency, audio quality, and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Train and guide junior staff on technical skills and creative approaches to editing

The Junior Video Editor reports to the Supervising Editor and works closely with Editors, Assistant Editors, Senior Editors, and Post Production Supervisors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist editors and post production team as needed
  • Create assemblies based on paper cuts, perform cut-downs, and pull selects
  • Execute rounds of notes for editors as needed
  • Assist with the video finishing process; prep sequences for color correction and audio mixing, execute and upload deliverables, handle QC revisions
  • Deliver audio and video cue sheets per episode
  • Ensure projects are prepped for archiving
  • Edit light-lift, simple video concepts or other video projects

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of editing or assistant editing experience in a post-production facility
