Privacy Policy
Career Clarifier LLC ( “Career Clarifier”, “Company,” “We,” “Our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This document details the types of information we may collect or that you may provide when you access, use or register with Career Clarifier’s website and mobile application (collectively “Services”) and our practices for using, maintaining, protecting and disclosing that information.
Please read this carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. By using or registering with our Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of our Services after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates as it may change from time to time.
Information We Collect and How We Collect It
We collect information from and about users of our Services:
Information You Provide to Us
When you use or register with the Services, we may ask you to provide information by which you may be personally identified, such as your name, email address, telephone number, location, credit card information, and any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline ("Personal Information").
This information includes:
Automatic Information Collection
When you download, access or use the Services, it may use technology to automatically collect:
Local Storage, Cookies, Web Beacons, and Tracking
Our Services use local storage and cookies, which are small text files that are intended to make the Services better for you to use. In general, cookies are used to retain preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide tracking data to third-party applications like Google Analytics. You may, however, disable cookies on the Services. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. We suggest consulting the help section of your browser or doing your own web research on how to disable cookies.
Please note that linked third-party websites may also use cookies. We cannot control the use of cookies by these third-party websites. For example, when you link from our website or app to a third-party website, that website may have the ability to recognize that you have come from Career Clarifier by using cookies. If you have any questions about how third-party websites use cookies, you should contact such third parties directly.
We may also employ software technology known as “web beacons” or “clear GIFs,” which helps us keep track of what content on our service is effective. Web beacons are small graphics with a unique identifier that are used to track the online movements of Internet users. Web beacons are embedded in the web pages you review, so they are not stored on your hard drive. The web beacons we may use will not track or collect any personally identifiable information about you and they are in no way linked to your personally identifiable information.
The Services also use third-party analysis and tracking services to track the performance of our services, understand how you use our services, and offer you an improved and safer experience.
Use of Personal Information We Collect
We may use the information we collect from you in the following ways:
All the data we collect at Career Clarifier is necessary for us to deliver the services you use. The amount we collect has been minimized wherever possible to respect your privacy.
Should you still disagree with the collection and processing of this data, we recommend you stop using our services or contact us at support@CareerClarifier.com to delete your account.
How We May Share Information We Collect
We may share personal information as follows:
Legal Basis for Processing Personal Information
Our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described above will depend on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it.
However, we will normally collect personal information from you only (i) where we need the personal information to perform a contract with you; (ii) where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your rights; or (iii) where we have your consent to do so. We have a legitimate interest in operating our Services and communicating with you as necessary to provide these Services, for example when responding to your queries, improving our platform, undertaking marketing, or for the purposes of detecting or preventing illegal activities.
In some cases, we may also have a legal obligation to collect personal information from you or may otherwise need the personal information to protect your vital interests or those of another person.
If we ask you to provide personal information to comply with a legal requirement or to perform a contract with you, we will make this clear at the relevant time and advise you whether the provision of your personal information is mandatory or not (as well as of the possible consequences if you do not provide your personal information).
Data Retention
We retain personal information we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax, or accounting requirements).
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it or, if this is not possible (for example, because personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
Security of Your Personal Information
The security of your Personal Information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our Services, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).
Career Clarifier takes reasonable security measures to protect your Personal Information to prevent loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Please be aware, however, that despite our efforts, no security measures are impenetrable.

California Privacy Policy
In addition to the information contained in our General Privacy Policy (available here), California residents have the right to know and request access to their personal information collected, used, and disclosed within the past 12 months, and to delete their personal information in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”). The instructions for submitting requests pursuant to the CCPA are below. Please note that these means are only for use by California consumers for which we have collected information on our own behalf. If we received your information solely during the course of providing services to another entity, such as a healthcare professional, your employer, or a career advisor, all CCPA requests should be directed to the entity or individual on whose behalf we collected or used the data (e.g., your psychologist, employer, career advisor, etc.). We will not discriminate against you if you choose to exercise any of your privacy rights under the CCPA.
How to submit a request to know, access, or delete?
If you are a California resident and you would like to submit a request to know, access, or delete your personal information, you can email your request to support@careerclarifier.com.
What happens after you submit a request to know, access, or delete?
Following a request to know, access, or delete your personal information, we must first verify your identity. We will take commercially reasonable steps to verify your identity, including verifying you via your current account with us or asking you to provide us with information matching the information we have in our files, such as your most recent purchase with us or credit card security code. If you wish to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, please indicate that when submitting your request, in which case we will require verification of both you and your agent’s identity and the agent’s authority to make a request on your behalf.
We will make good faith efforts to provide you with additional information or access to your personal information, or delete it when you request it, but there may be circumstances in which we need not comply with your request. For example, we are not required to delete personal information needed to provide a service we are contracted to provide (such as our assessment services), to detect fraudulent or illegal activity, for bookkeeping or tax purposes, or for legal purposes. Also, we are not required to provide additional information, access, or delete personal information where your identity could not be verified, where the information is protected health information governed by the Confidentiality of Medical Information Act or the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, where the information would compromise others’ privacy or other legitimate rights, like intellectual property rights, or where the information contains legally privileged material. If we determine that your request should be restricted in any particular instance, we will provide you with an explanation of why that determination has been made and a contact point for any further inquiries.
Any requests that can be processed by us will be done so in no more than 45 days from the date we receive your request, unless we notify you that an extension is required. In case of an extended completion period, we will process your request in no more than 90 days from the date of your original request. Consumers are limited to two requests to know/access their personal information within a 12-month period.
Personal information collected, used, and shared within the past 12 months
California residents also have the right to know what categories of personal information we have collected from consumers generally within the past 12 months, where that information came from, the business or commercial purpose for the collection, and the categories of service providers and/or third parties with whom that information was shared. Below you will find a chart that sets this out for you. If you would like to know what categories of personal information we have collected about you specifically, please contact us as described in this Policy. Please note that these are categories of personal information as they are set forth under California law. We did not necessarily collect all of the specific pieces of personal information listed for any given person.
